SUMMARY:Optical excitation on 2D heterostructure
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nAbdullah Rasmita\nNanyang Technological University, Singapore\n\n\n\nXiAbdullah Rasmita is a research fellow in Quantum Photonics group at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research interests include quantum optics and optoelectronics in low- dimensional solid-state systems.\n\n\n\n\nOptical excitation on 2D heterostructure\n\n\n\n\nTwo-dimensional (2D) materials offer a new platform for exploring basic science and new technology development. Due to their atomic layer thickness, their properties can be effectively tuned using external control, such as electrical gating. Moreover, a moiré superlattice potential can be created by layer engineering 2D heterostructures, further modulating their properties. In this talk, I will discuss the effect of optical excitation on 2D transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) heterostructures, focusing on the valley degree of freedom and moiré potential. I will discuss how optical excitation can result in a gate-tunable valley current and how moiré potential can be probed using optical excitation. I will also discuss our recent results [1,2] and possible development related to this topic.\n\n\n\nReferences\n\n\n\n[1] (IRL 3654), hosted by CQT and SPMS. Jiang, C., Rasmita, A., Ma, H., et al., Nat.
