Alexia Auffèves becomes Majulab new director

As of January 1st, 2023, Dr. Alexia Auffèves has become Majulab director, succeeding to Christian Miniatura who had been director since the creation of Majulab.

A. Auffèves is a CNRS research director. After an experimental thesis under the supervision of S. Haroche at the Kastler Brossel Laboratory, she has been hired by CNRS in 2005 in Grenoble where she has developed a theoretical research line around quantum optics and quantum thermodynamics. She promotes the physics-philosophy interface within the Grenoble ecosystem for quantum technologies, which she coordinates between 2017 and 2022 through the local initiatives Quantum Engineering Grenoble and QuantAlps. In 2022, she co-funds the Quantum Energy Initiative (#QEI), to foster an interdisciplinary community to understand and optimize the energetic footprint of emerging quantum technologies.
